Remove background plate from a pre-existing animation (no layers)
I would like to take a pre-existing animation pulled from a DVD (like a Looney Tunes cartoon) and extra only the character layer (ie. remove the background plate so that I can composite the character onto a video track).
It seems that this could be easily done, since the background plate never changes and there should be software that can isolate just the character. I would some sort of automatic process, or simplified process, other than going frame-by-frame in photoshop using the magic lasso tool to isolate the character form background.
Any ideas? Any programs out there that can do this? Thanks.
