It’s been a while since I used AE. I’m trying to remember how to animate some vertical bars to move side to side using a null object. I think I may need to use expressions, I seem to get them to move but they all stick together, I want them to move randomly back and forth. What is the best way to do this?

Also trying to remember how to use black and white(such as a ramp) to create transparency in an image. I thought it was a blending mode thing (silloette alpha) or something along those lines. I’m in a little bit of a time crunch so any advice or suggestions would be great.

    Thanks!

The lines are also very easy to animate without expressions….use the wiggler. Set two keyframes, highlight the keyframes, adjust the wiggler to taste and apply to X position only. Extremely quick, and very fun to use.
