Hi, we’re running Media Composer 3 on Mac OS 10.5.4 and having issues relinking media from a project we are transferring from another system. The media is on 2 firewire drives in OMFI MediaFiles folders on the root level of both drives.

Should there be any issues with compatibility? Or is a previous version of 10.5.3 more compatible?

    thanks

    ps..
a gentleman in avid support was adamant that it was an OS verison issue since
3.0 has nit been passed with osx 10.5.4..
i want to mke sure before going through the hassle of rolling back to OSX 10.5.3

Well, if Avid tech support told you the correct OS, I’d go with that. And after you roll back, turn off your automatic updates. You’ll save yourself a lot of problems….

Go into each of your media drives, and drill down to the OMFI folder with all the media. Sort by date, and you should find two media database files ( .mdb & .pmr). Throw those away. When you start up Avid (with the correct OS, of course), it will index those drives. Open up the project, and you should be golden.
