Relink Preview files after close projet
Posted by Pierre Valliere on April 28, 2016 at 7:35 pmWhen I re-open a projet with premiere CC 2105 (Mac), half of the preview files are missing! I’ve try a lot of thing/solution if found on the net but they r not working! Anyone knows how to arrange this?

April 29, 2016 at 4:01 pmDo you have an automatic “cache purge” set?
Are you working from multiple drives?
Is your drive big enough to hold all of the previews generated?
I am guessing here but I am assuming a small CPU takes time rerendering these. So the file loss is adding lots of edit time.
Try saving the XML and EDL files when you close in the future.
I assume you have looked in your cache folders for the previews.
I also assume you searched all drives that were present during your close.
You can see which folders are chosen by going to the menu for “Edit” selecting prefs and then “media”.
However some files will be in the folder where the project itself is.
Caching set up varies with Pr version and your own settings.

April 29, 2016 at 4:10 pmAlso in recent Pr the scratch disk settings are now in a project panel when you initiate the program. they used to be in the preference panel group.

April 30, 2016 at 1:00 amDid you find anything to indicate how it happened so you can re-render the project?
Are your CPU and GPU up to the tasks of what you are asking Premiere to do?
How about breaking the tracks down into one scene at a time?
Or Rendering out the overlays into sub sequences?Do you have enough RAM. Have you ever monitored RAM and CPU use when working an edit?
You did not say if you have permanently lost half of your footage or just on the part you sent out to be returned.
