  Reliability of D9 on older players…

  Hi All,

  We’re planning on Authoring a Feature Film on D9 (so that it can contain the 152 Min Feature and about 60 Min of Extras Footage).

  I’ve read on this forum (article goes back to 2005) that older players have trouble reading D9. I’ve also read an opposing viewpoint that it was a problem because of the way the D9 was authored and the Layer Break Point was set, and that if that’s done correctly, then there’s nothing to worry about.

  Could someone throw light on what the current thinking on this is. Should I go instead with a 2 Disc set?

  And if you have any other words of advice on the Authoring itself, that would be most welcome. I’m planning on using DVD Studio Pro and Compressor.
