We are pleased to announce that DaVinci Resolve 12.5.3 is released and now available on the Blackmagic Design support web page.

The update is available at no charge for DaVinci Resolve and DaVinci Resolve Studio users.

    New Features
Added support for Final Cut Pro X XML Version 1.6
Added support for PostgreSQL 9.5.2 on macOS
Added support for ACEScct color science
Updated ACES support from ACES 1.0.0 to ACES 1.0.2
Improved performance when encoding to MXF XAVC
Improved importing of Flip and Flop from AAFs from Media Composer
Improved importing of Dip to Color dissolves from AAFs from Media Composer
    Improved Dobly Vision XML export

This release also addresses an issue
With FCPXML transforms for Multicam not getting imported correctly
Where all tracks in the keyframe group get highlighted when switching between them
With reading Drop Frame timecode from some Sony camera files
With jagged edges when decoding YUV 422 clips
Where project level Data Burn Ins do not get saved
Where sync audio based on timecode would lead to incorrect results
Where the Lift, Gamma and Gain control on the Resolve interface do not maintain Color Balance
That could cause a machine freeze
    When undoing “Decompose in place”
    General performance and stability improvements

Important note for PostgreSQL database uses on macOS:

Upgrading your PostgreSQL database server on Mac

Until DaVinci Resolve 12.5.2, the Mac installer used to ship with PostgreSQL version 8.4.2. Starting from macOS Sierra 10.12, PostgreSQL version 8.4 is no longer supported. If you intend to upgrade to the latest OS, you will need to upgrade your PostgreSQL database server to version 9.5.4 prior to upgrading macOS. Once your PostgreSQL installation has been upgraded and your data has been ported, you can then proceed with your macOS upgrade.

We have provided apps to simplify upgrading your PostgreSQL version on your Mac. The apps along with instructions can be found in the /Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve/Upgrade PostgreSQL folder.

Starting from DaVinci Resolve 12.5.3, new installations will include PostgreSQL version 9.5.4.

For clarification, this PostgreSQL update is only required prior to updating to Mac OS Sierra.

[Peter Chamberlain] “Improved Dobly Vision XML export”

Oh! Oh! This would have been so much more appropriate in Release “ELEVEN”… The boys in Spinal Tap would have been so down it.

    Hey Peter,
Rendering stops when you hide the main window in the updated version of Davinci resolve.
Is there any way to fix it?

    Hi,
I am not a user of this application but I am interested in your information ” Starting from macOS Sierra 10.12, PostgreSQL version 8.4 is no longer supported”.
My app which using Postgres 8.2.3 could not start the service after upgrading to macOS.
Because of some reasons, we could not upgrade the postgres to the last version at the moment.
Could you show me the official information of compatibility between macOS and postgres then I can show it to my client.
Thank you so much and Best regards,
