Reinstall issues… Unexpected quit?
Ok… I had an issue with Compressor and I had to uninstall FCP using FCP uninstall (as I found on this forum)… it removed FCP and I restarted and then re-installed FCP..
When I re-installed (Completed install) I started up FCP and it gave me an Unexpectedly Quit screen and to restart the program… No matter how many times I restarted it would not open. This was the same for Motion, Live Type, Compressor, DVD Studio and Soundtrak Pro.
So…. I uninstalled again and re-installed again. When I opened FCP it gave me the same problem.. but after 3 attempts it let me in.
Not sure the problem there… but it ended with me losing all my codecs as FCP will not recognize XDCam footage (which comes with FCP 6) MPEG video (I have MPGSTREAM CLIP) or AVI Files….
Anyone know how to fix this?

Even more important than DW, keep running Software Update over and over until you get a message that you are up to date, and most important of all, Fix Permissions with the Apple Disk Utility ASAP.

That’s the way.
Each piece of software installed> Repair Permissions before the next install.
When I install I put the DiskUtillity in the Dock.
