Reformatting Computer Quick Question
Hello all. new to these forums. I have Vegas movide Studio Platinum 11 on my Windows 7 64 bit machine and it works great. I am doing a project from a trip to Disney World last year. I am about half way thru the project. I need to reformat my computer, for several reasons none related to Vegas, and was wondering besides the project files (which i all ready backed up on a external)what files do I need to make sure to back up so that once i put Vegas back on the newly reformated comp i can pick up right where i left off on my project?
I just don’t want it to be totally lost once i try to pick up where i left off. Any help would be great. thanks.

There is a way you can “save as” and have all the project files and asset files be saved to a folder you choose. Also, be sure you re-install all the plugins you may have, as well as save and custom preset for any FX you may have made. I have more than on one occasion redone a computer with custom presets only to realize that I do not have them when I reformat the computer.

thanks for the info. I see “save as” but it just seems like the regular save as file…..not like it’s putting all the project files into one folder like you stated.
where do i find the save as you are talking about?

Choose save as, and there will be a little check box on the lower right hand side that says “copy media with project”…this will save all your media files as well.

actually i was trying to find it still after i posted my last response and check that same box you just said. you confirmed it for me thanks!
also once i reload sony vegas do i just choose “open” under “project” and then chose that project i was working on and everything will load up just fine? or is there more to it then that?
