I haven’y had occasion to buy and use it yet but if the examples are to be beleived then its just what you need:

I second this and these folks really know their stuff, give the demo a try.

But noise on HDV is made worse by the compression, you may not get satisfactory results from any tool.

Other tools to try: Grame Nattress’ plug-ins for Apple Color have a good denoiser.

The denoiser in AE (starting from 7) is good, but slow (ex Grain Surgery).

I download DE:Noise, but didn’t see how to actually get it into my FCP system… Going by what I had done to install Joe’s Filter’s, I took the Plug-In, opened up the package contents of FCP, and put the DENoise plug-in there. But then when I open up FCP, it either opens up with a red line over everything, or crashes. I then moved the plug-in from out of the Package Contents, and restarted FCP, but it’s still crashing. Any ideas as to why this is happening and how i can solve it? Also, once I’ve downloaded the DE:Noise filter, how do I bring it into FCP?

I’ve answered your “crashing” problem in another thread.

However, after reading this email, I believe I know the problem. The installer automatically puts the plugin in /Library/Plug-ins/FxPlug and you do not need to copy the version that we install in the directory with the manual, that’s just there for reference. So delete the file you manually placed into the FCP package and I think you’ll be good to go.

Hi Peter,

I actually did do that and it was still giving me problems. I think I went a little crazy because I just decided to reinstall Final Cut Studio 2 again because it didn’t seem like anything was working. I wish I got your post a little earlier. Hopefully it will all be OK with the reinstall, though I already did it and everything was still crashing- so now I’ve gone through and tried to delete any and all files associated with FC Studio 2, and we’ll see how it goes when I do the reinstall. Do you think I should delete the DE:Noise pug-ins to be safe? I already deleted the ones that I manually put in the package contents… And by the way, where should DE:Noise show up when it’s all done? Will it be an effect that I can access in the effects tab?
