I’m experiencing an awful lot of flicker on the JPEG’s that I have in my project. Many of these JPEG are quite large since that are often made up of several stills which I have stitched together. I have the reduce Interlace flicker turned on & have rendered as progressive scan. The flicker can be so bad that in a photo what has a lake in it you might think these were waves in the water as the pan/crop tool zooms out. Is there anything else that I can do to reduce or stop the flicker?

    Thanks in advance

    Try reducing the size.
Unless you’re doing an extreme zoom, 2x project size (1440 x 960 for SD NTSC) is large enough.

I’ve also been told that changing the “Full resolution rendering quality” in the project property to “best” might improve images especially bigger ones. Of course, I can’t recall where I heard it from… so I can’t swear by it… 🙂

I have resized one very large photo to 1/4 of it’s original size & replaced the original on timeline. I looped the event & kept hitting the undo/redo button. Both flicker equally. By original picture looks sharper however. In an effort to ensure that no still went without this anti flicker switch turned on I applied the switch to every event on the timeline. I’m guessing that if this switch can’t be used nothing happens. Correct me if I’m wrong.
