Reducing banding on 1080p footage
I’ve found that by adding noise (along with some blur) I can reduce banding substantially especially in clips that are then uploaded to Vimeo(which compresses again and therefore exaggerates any existing banding)
Has anyone experimented with amounts and types of noise ( and blur) to add? There’s regular, fractal and turbulent.

Adding .5 up to maybe 3.0 amount of noise will usually do it.
I never add blur.
You also must render at either 16bit or 32bit to get the benefits though.

I prefer to add natural film grain to reduce banding…
