Hi anyone out there who can help.
My apologies if this is a double post.

I’ve done a multicam edit of a concert, have a look on youtube.
    https://au.youtube.com/watch?v=CGsFfgntz1g

I was able to get several independently recorded tapes of the same concert, I synced them all together and merrily went on my way creating a multicam edit.
Before I created the multicam track I created duplicates of all cameras, so at least I can create a new multicam track if needed.

Now, another camera guy has given me his tape of the same concert, and I want to add this to my multicamera edit.
Ive tried adding it as a take, but it only shows up when the particular take is used, not as another camera throughout the concert

How can I (or is it in anyway possible) to add, remove or replace tracks? Or will I need to start a new multicam edit from my duplicated tracks with the new on included?
    Thanks
    Chris

Unfortunately, I believe you have to start all over again. 🙁

This is why people still use 3rd party multicam tools with Vegas like Ultimate S Pro, infinitCAM, and Excalibur. They still offer advantages over Sony’s one way edits like maintaining the original taracks and allowing you to add a new track to the edit at any time.

Thanks for the prompt reply John.
Is it possible then to use these add ins after the event?

No, unfortunately, the damage is done. Sony has combined the tracks and thrown away the information to recreate them. You really need to start over to add another camera into the edit. These tools preserve the original tracks and just mute them so that you can edit them again if you need to.

I made a script for this task : “Add New Take To Multicam Project”
    You can find it here:

    Thanks John and Gilles.
It seems that whichever way I go, adding a new camera gives me another set of edit decisions. It’s probably just as well that I created duplicate tracks before I created the Multicam track, so now I can go back and recreate the multicam track with the new camera included. I’m quite familiar with all of the different angles, so this shouldn’t take as long as the first time. Thanks again for your help. Chris
