red thumbnail appears on fcp timeline
we’re in the middle of an edit. nothing very complicated. but at certain zoom resolutions we’re getting red thumbnails. it’s not conisistent – if you zoom in further the red disappears, keep zooming and it pops up again. the footage plays back fine and exports fine, it’s just very unsettling to see what looks to me like missing footage (even though it’s not).
any brilliant ideas/solutions welcome.

Delete and rebuild your cache.
Also, where are you storing your cache?

Hi Jeremy – I’m working on this job and thanks for the tip – do you mean deleting the generated library files via the fcpx menu or something else (I’m away from this fcpx machine just now but I’m guessing the cache will be in the library) Thanks for helping – David
