I’m going to be editing some footage that was shot on the HVX using the Red Rock 35 adaptor. What I know is that the adaptor flips all of your images so when they are brought into AVID they are all upside down. What I was wondering was if there was a quicker way to flip all of the shots and/or if I use the flip effect in the effect mode is there a way to keep the newly flipped image in the bin so that I don’t have to flip every time I chose a different clip.
    thanks

I can’t think of a way. Effects in Avid always apply to clips on the timeline, not on the clip itself.

I thought I had seen an app that could flip the image in the HVX files, but I can’t find anything, so I might have imagined it.

Otherwise, you could put all the clips in a sequence, apply a flip on there, and then edit from that sequence as a source.

You can use MXFX from DVFilm to process and flip the files from the HCX200: https://www.dvfilm.com/MXFX/index.htm
