I am a long time FCP editor transitioning over to PP. Liking it so far, but I have one question regarding RED footage. In FCP, I was able to display on my client monitor (not my computer monitor) footage that was not 1080p. It seems that when I put a RED clip that is 4K, for example, into my source monitor, it won’t play out to my client monitor. It displays in my source window on my computer screen. The work around I figured out is to put all of my clips onto a 1080 timeline and use that as my source for editing.
Is it possible to display non-1080 source material on an external monitor? Is there a setting I am unaware of?

I am using a Blackmagic DeckLink HD Extreme 3D+. It is feeding my Panasonic TH-50BT300U via SDI.
    Help!

Your I/O card does not support 4K so it doesn’t output it. You can set whether the card scales an incompatible signal either up or down in the preferences-playback settings.

Thanks for your response. Do you mean PP preferences or the DeckLink preferences?

Never mind, I should have looked in the PP Playback preference pull down before responding to your post. That helped! Thanks!
