Red Giant Universe for Vegas intro tutorial

Very cool! I’m especially interested in the glitch effects. I’ve avoided using many third party effects like this since they’re mostly achievable in Vegas, but I’m going to look into this.

September 8, 2014 at 8:23 pmIt unfortunately is, though they have several of their plugins free. Here’s the pricing list.

September 9, 2014 at 11:02 amI would be very leery of Red Giant. They have abandoned Vegas Pro users before and I’m afraid they will do it again. They really could care less about us. I got burned with Magic Bullet for Vegas Pro when they stopped supporting it. I won’t get burned again!
I also don’t care for subscriptions. Now that plug-in makers are getting into the act it will crush under it’s own weight. Imagine paying rent on your NLE and then rent on all of your plug-ins. Pretty soon you will need to take out a mortgage to cover the monthly cost of editing.
I downloaded the Universe trial for FCP X, and once I saw that it was subscription based I uninstalled it. I have to control my costs. I don’t do rental. If I can’t own it… I don’t need it!

September 9, 2014 at 3:31 pmI downloaded the free version. It appears to prompt you to buy the paid version and includes a trial of it. I’ll try it out, but I think I’m going to get rid of it, too.

I wont even try it!
Magic Bullet Looks from them is enough for me.
I can Guarantee you that in a couple months, they are gonna drop
Universe Support for Sony Vegas. That’s a given fact. They have
done this over the years so many times i’ve lost count.
I love Looks, but this company really doesn’t carry much regards for the
Vegas user base. Their main focus is After Effects.Steve Rhoden (Cow Leader)

September 9, 2014 at 8:19 pmActually, I once emailed them asking if they’d provide more Vegas support for their products, and they said they don’t because not many Vegas users buy them. Sounds typical, I guess.
