Recreating “Thick Plastic Distortion” effect
I’m trying to recreate the effect seen in the static-x video “Start a War” – http://www.static-x.com under media
The effect is similar to maybe shooting through some sort of wierd thick plastic, with ripples in it, perhaps a shower curtain type of deal.
The closest I’ve been able to come to it was with 2 layers of Blur/Distort with the sapphire plugins…
Any help would be appreciated

I can’t get to the video, but I think it sounds like CC Glass. You can even load bump maps within the plugin and say a ripply sand layer as the bump map would cause a rippling in the already distorted CC Glass filter.

What is CC glass and how do I use it?
*note* The video is under media on the right side, it uses flash for encoding, so you’re gonna need that to view it.

Actually, it is pretty hard to see with the size of the video, but it looks a lot like what you would achieve with the Magnify effect…

well Ive been trying to recreate it, I’m getting closer but it’s still not THERE – mine just looks like distortion, I need it to look like … gelly or like a shower curtain or thick plastic
