  • Recovering/Recapturing after a hard drive crash – out of sync

Vegas 6. Captured the video by using the “capture tape” feature. Sudden hard drive crash, but had backup of the project file. I recaptured the video using the same “capture tape” as I had software control of the hardware. When I redirected the files, most were out of sync – which is strange as there were 4 tapes and some where close, most were seconds off ????

what is the proper procedure here ?
I could try opening the project and when it asks for the file I could choose recapture – will that work ?
Doesn’t it go by timecode anyway so how could it be wrong ? I have another tape to recapture and would like it to work without having to adjust everything…..

any tips appreciated, my first experience with this, did an archive search but couldn’t find anything

    Thank You
    Best Regards, Randall

    Yes, you should use recapture.
You can also go ahead and load the project and ignore missing files, then in the Project Media Tab, right-click and choose recapture all offline media.
