  Recovering video after “check card” message

  I was on an out of town shoot last week and after recording about two hours of video I got a “check card” message on my HMC40 camera. I switched cards and continued shooting over the next couple of days and had no problems with other cards. After reading posts I realize I’ve fallen victim to the cheap card mistake since I bought a 32gig card for $70 thinking about how much money I saved.

  Is there any way for me to recover the video from my first two hours of shooting?

  I’ve been reading online descriptions about data recovery software. Does that work? Any suggestions will be appreciated as I won’t be able to get on a plane and recapture the missing video – thanks,
