  • Recover Lost files from a Compac Flash Card

Posted by Frank Giardina on November 28, 2011 at 2:48 am

Well… a first for me. I apparently didn’t download 6 important files from a compact flash that has been reformatted a number of times. Any thoughts on file recovery in a case like this?

    Best Regards!

Its is difficult to say if u can recover your data or not, you have to try data recovery software and see yourself if the data is still available to recover or it is overwritten now. I would suggest you to tru “kernel for windows data recovery” software. i have tried it once but mine case was different as i have formatted the drive only once

[Frank Giardina] ” has been reformatted a number of times”

Reformatting a card doesn’t mean necessarily the footage is erased physically from the card. Like Bob wrote, if your files are not overwritten by new data, there is a realistic chance to recover the files with appropriate recovering software.
I had positive experience with Recuva from Pirisoft. But it’s Windows-only software.
