  • Recording wild picture/sound via FW with FCP?

Posted by Rj Miles on January 31, 2008 at 5:06 am

    Hello…

Is there a way to record wild in FCP, from a live camera feed coming in over the FW port?

Hitting NOW in the log/capture window causes FCP to try to shuttle the tap, and the camera (Sony HV20) doesn’t have a tape.

Please advise if there is a way to grab wild picture/sound in FCP from the FW port.

In the mean time, I have been using the QT app to capture live recordings, but it’s not as elegant and organized as if I could do in FCP.

    Thanks

    Hey Walter,

Did they ever fix capture now to sync w/ timecode from tape when doing a live capture? I remember used to be able to do it in FCP3, but when FCP4 came out, didnt work anymore… Is there still a way to do it?

    hmm… I wonder what this button does…
