Recording moving subject without boom operator/uneven lavaliere recording
Hi,
I need some guidance on how to shoot a moving subject (in this case, a barber moving around his seated client) and record even audio without a boom operator? I used a lavaliere mic but unfortunately, the subject moved his head up and down while shaving his client, and the audio levels are very uneven between when he is speaking straight ahead vs. speaking with his head turned down. What would you recommend as the best way to approach a situation like this in the future?
I believe I could a) reposition the lavaliere mic and/or b) use a shotgun mic on a mic stand and capture the 4 foot radius the subject is moving within.
