  • Recording live video with Premiere CS5 from Canopus ADVC110

I’m having some trouble recording video my ADVC110 with Premiere CS5. I’ve two Canon cameras (HV40) shooting DV connected via composite cables to a Videonics switcher, the video out of which is connected to the Canopus composite video input. My audio source is two wired lavs connected to a Mackie mixer with one channel of audio coming from the XLR output of the mixer to the right audio analog input of the Canopus. The Canopus is then connected to my editing computer via 6 pin firewire. It’s powered on via an external power adapter and set as analog in.

In Premiere however I can neither see preview video in the capture window or record footage. The capture setting are set to DV and I’ve tried both turning device control off and turning it on and setting it up for use with the ADVC110 in the settings.

I have connected the switcher to an external monitor to confirm the video feed is working and I’ve got audio in my headset from my mixer.

Anybody have any suggestions as to what I may be doing wrong? Thank you.
