recording audio on FCP
hello, i tried to record a voice over but i couldn’t. i have all the right stuff. audio interface, mic, etc, but for some reason it wouldn’t let me. i had to go to STP to record it and then export it to FCP.
any suggestions?

HOW is it all connected? What are you using and how is it hooked into the system? Did you look at the VO tool and set it to the proper input device? There are lots of things you need to set manually.

yes I have set it up with the proper device etc. the funny thing is that before I could actually see the sound going in…i mean the meters told me that, and then once i selected the track it wouldn’t let me- is it possible that i need some sort of video there in order to record a VO? it would be a flaw if it did require that.
