Recording 720 24p native mode verus 24p 60 on P2 Cards
I heard that shooting DVCPRO HD 720p on the HVX200 in the 24p native mode yields 2.5 minutes per gig on a P2 card instead of 1 minute per gig in the 24p 60 mode. The increase in storage seems desirable, but prompts post-prod. concerns about media that is actually native 24
Question:
After native material is loaded in FCP and cut in a sequence- how does one output? Does FCP render missing frames to achieve tape output & viewing on monitors … or is some sort of plug-in required?
And wouldn’t rendering those frames require more storage space?Perplexed. Thank you.

What are you mastering to? My final output was to 1080 at 23.98 so editing 23.98 was a no brainer.

Not sure yet. But invariably a tape format in HD. Still unable to grasp how FCP compensates for missing frames. Appreciate your feedback.
