reconnecting to original clips instead of media managed clips in FCP 7
Due to an AWOL hard drive and project file, we are left with a media managed project file that we need to reconnect back to the original footage. Short of manually searching and force reconnecting to the originals, does anyone have any tips on how to modify the project file to drop or not look for the -X suffix attached to media managed clips? Example: 0010YJ-1. This is a fairly large timeline spanning a number of drives. While I think it is a long shot to bring the reconnect process back to the original method I am praying that there is an answer somewhere. Many thanks for any help the community can offer.

You’ll need to make a new project and reimport all the footage again, in that project. Why a new project? To keep things less cluttered.
Then, you need this:

Only that will enable you to reconnect your partial clips, media managed ones, to master clips.
