  • Reconnecting path issues in Final Cut Pro 6

    Hi-

I am working a project that requires an extensive amount of reconnecting offline media. Whenever I run a search to find media that needs to be reconnected, all goes well. However, when I re-open the project (doing absolutely no changes whatsoever to the file’s path,), FCP doesn’t remember the file anymore. Does anyone know how to avert this issue…or what may be causing this? Thanks,

    e.

Is your Scratch Disk set to the folder your media is in?

I think if you set your Scratch Disk (found under Final Cut Pro > System Settings…) to the folder your media is in, then FCP will find all the files upon opening the project.

    Hi lliot,
The full path needs to match for not having reconnecting problem.
Starting by the name of the HD that contents the media.

I do as you say, I’m not changing the scratch disks. I am still having to reconnect media files everytime i start final cut pro. Any further ideas on why it won’t remember the path? thanks so much!
