reconnecting media to project after deletion
I accidentally trashed video files associated with a project near completion (I’ve tried restoring the files and not had much luck (anyone with advice on that would be appreciated also) but now I am digitizing the footage again and don’t know how to reconnect it to the original clips. Do I have to edit the whole thing from scratch?

right click the clips that are missing (in the bin area) and “batch capture” to reconnect them. Hopefully it was logged
properly so FCP will ask you for the proper reel/tape numbers. -
You wan to do a batch capture of the clips and it will prompt you for tapes reel by reel and capture the footage that you deleted. It will automatically connect the footage after you’ve captured it.
Highlight all the clips in the viewer, or however many you want to do in the batch capture session and hit CTRL+C to bring up the batch capture window. Hopefully you payed careful attention when logging reel names because it’s going to ask for reels.

I didn’t label any reels. There’s about 20, I think I’ve just made an extra headache becauxe I need to sort the clips into different new projects but any advice around this is appreciated. Is there anyway I can Capture now and reconnect the media to the timeline?
