In order for me to get a project to the director for him to make some edits, in a timely manner, I copied the media from the current timeline with one second handles and put that media on a drive for him. Now I am trying to reconnect his cut with the media on my system that is the original footage. However with the copied media the filename becomes B010_C006_0809SB -2 if the clip was used twice in the cut. So the ‘name’ of the clip is different than the original name. So FCP does not find the original file on my system. Is there a way to tell FCP not to look at the -2 or -3 at the end of the filename? Or do I need to go through the film and reconnect each clip?
