  • Reconforming audio after renaming files in dual sound workflow

Have a problem with audio files that have been renamed.
Originally they were synced with the original .mov files using the built in sync tool. Then I trimmed these clips and made them into compound clips.

I renamed the master audio files (don’t ask why) but even when I renamed them BACK to their original file names, in FCPX the audio track is red in the timeline. I can’t figure out how to relink to the original audio

    Renamed where?

in the finder. Which I’ve discovered is a no-no!
I simply renamed them to all lower case. But even after reverting they are not recognized in FCPX and I fear I’ll have to reimport the audio and resync all my clips.

Sometimes in FCPX, you have to relink the files one by one, meaning select the file in the reconnect window, and then point to the file in the Finder.

    Does that work?
