Recompress frames
Is it a good idea to recompress frames when exporting a self-contained quicktime move file?

No.

No. If you check recompress all frames, all the stuff in your time-line is recompressed even if no needed. This will make unnecessaryly loose a generation to footage that don’t need to be processed. Apart of the processing time.
