  Recommended workflow-interview audio

  Hi
  Working on a film project I involving lots of vocals(interviews) and background music .
  The vocals were recorded using a lav feeding into a Zoom H4N. In addition I am recording some stereo ambience to mix with the vocals.

  For the audio I need to sweeten(equalize) the vocals slightly(mono) and mix with the stereo ambience.

  What are the recommended steps to achieve a professional result?

  If applying any effects(reverb, etc) when should they be applied?
  What about normalization to raise volume…should it ever be used?
