    Hello!

When placing my clips in the timeline, is there a “best” setting to choose or should I just let FCP match the settings automatically?
Other than my choosing what to shoot (i.e. 720p/24fps or whatever in the camera settings) I didn’t realize I was choosing anything that would translate to something like a particular timeline setting.
    Thank you!

    Thank you!

Let FCP make the sequence match the clip settings.

If you shoot DVCPRO HD, FCP will make a sequence to match…as it works with DVPRO HD native. If you shoot AVCIntra, then you have two options…bring in Native and edit on a ProRes timeline (as there are no AVCIntra sequence settings), or bring in the footage as ProRes and then edit prores….letting FCP set up the sequence for you.
