My boss bought a couple of HPX-500s a few months back but forgot to buy mics for them (yeah, I know). SO, now that a new year is almost upon us I thought I might recommend a couple to him. If anyone has any suggestions as to a good on-camera mic I would appreciate it. So far I’ve come across the Panasonic PN-AG-MC200G and the Ikegami MC11C. I’m open to suggestions and advice.

    Thanks!

It’s very old, but there’s probably a new equivalent for the mic I use & love: Sennheiser ME60. Supercardioid. Can pull it off, stick it on a boom pole & works as a fair shotgun as well. Phantom via the 500.

Hey Bob are you sure about the ME part. The older ones were MKH-60. The ME series all fit on a separate power module (K-6) that uses a AA battery. There is the ME- 62; 64; 65; 66; 67 mic attachments for the power module to go from omni – cardioid – long shotgun.
