  • Recommended AV software for use on Vegas Pro 10 machine

I was hoping I could gain some insight from others as to which Anti Virus software people are using with their Vegas systems?
    Thanks!

Some very senior people say none. Don’t run anti-virus on a video editing machine. I now run only Microsoft Security Essentials.

Sadly, These machines MUST be connected to the Internet, and I feel the exact same way…no AV software at all would be best, but what other ways does one protect their machine from becoming infected?

I’m using Vipre which I find very non-intrusive. I usually don’t even know that it’s there unless it finds something or someone trying to cause problems. I always used Nortons, but it slowed my machine and couldn’t protect me in some cases. IMHO Dan

If you’re running Windows 7, I agree with Bob’s recommendation for Microsoft Security Essentials.
If you’re on XP, I’m using Bit Defender and am happy with it.
Don’t forget malware and spyware too.
For that, I have Malwarebytes and SUPERAntiSpyware, both of which were free.

I use AVG Free for several years now and I haven’t had any problems.

Comodo Internet Security. Runs full-time, but I can shut it down as needed.

My system specs: Intel i7 970, 12GB RAM, ASUS P6T, Vegas Pro 10e (x32/x64), Windows 7 x64 Ultimate, Vegas Production Assistant 1.0, VASST Ultimate S Pro 4.1, Neat Video Pro 2.6

AVASST Free, AdAware Free, WIndows 7 Firewall Control, and Auslogics Registry Cleaner and Defrag….all with no issues. I DO turn off any real-time AV though…
