I have been working with clips that have multi layers of video, text and audio tracks. My audio tracks are either voice overs or production sounds from a scene. I find that when I work with multi-layers of video that the overall speed of FCP slows down and various operations take longer to perform. It was suggested in order to save RAM and imrpove FCP efficency to nest the multi layerd clips, export them, then re-capture them as new clips which then can be dropped into my master timeline. I exported the clips with the existing V.O. and production audio already synched at the exact point I require.

When I re-capture the clips my audio is much louder than the original audio. It sounds tinney, sometimes fuzzy and not as clear.

    Why is this occuring?

Is there anything I can do to maintain the same clarity and level of audio as the original?

    I’d appreciate any feedback.

    Howie
