A media file has been deleted and I want to recapture it. I go to project media and found the media. Sure enough it is listed as ‘Offline Media File’. I then right clicked as instructed in the help and went to select Recapture but it is grayed out :-(. ‘Recapture All Offline Media’ is not grayed out but when I select it nothing happens.

Help..I was VERY close to finishing the project and am now stuck.

I wont bother giving the long and tedious story about how the media got deleted, cant see any point;).

    Regards,
    Ben

If the deleted file was captured previously, then the RECAPTURE option would be black. However, if the deleted file was previously copied, e.g. from a hard disk camera or something like that, you wil have to copy the specific file back to a location on your hard disk. So what is the origin of the missing file?

If you emptied your recycle bin, you can see if there’s a restore point where you still had it. Or you can recapture it from the tape via the camera.

I think I may of worked out what the problem is. The file was edited in Sound Forge (not a copy of the file) and saved. I am guessing that this means the source is no longer DV Tape so it cant be recaptured. Is there a way of recapturing from Capture App rather than Vegas.
