  • Rebecca Black’s “Friday” intro effect?

I know, this is a weird question and the song is junk, but the intro of her video, with the notebook turning showing each day when it finally reveals a picture of an alarm clock, is something I’d like to do for a wedding video. Here is the video for those who haven’t seen it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CD2LRROpph0&feature=related . I was wondering, how was this created? Is this a Final Cut Pro or After Effects sequence and is it something that is premade or would i have recreate everything from scratch. ANy help would be nice; thanks.

God…this is worse than “rickrolling” us. Don’t make me retaliate by posting Leonard Nemoy singing “Bilbo Baggins…”

I have a system, it has stuff in it, and stuff hooked to it. I have a camera, it can record stuff. I read the manuals, and know how to use this stuff and lots of other stuff too.
    You should be suitably impressed…

So all you can do is comment on the video; you don’t know how to recreate that effect? It’s a wedding video – this couple doesn’t even know that it came from a lame music video. Anybody?

Sounds like you are better off searching for a third party Motion or After Effects template if you can’t create it by yourself. Yeah it takes time and effort. Something someone isn’t going to tell for free. That’s why you pay for the templates.

I take the 5th for my comments on the music video and the wedding video.

Sorry, I was conned into watching it once. Not doing it again. That effect wasn’t done in FCP. Motion, After Effects maybe. Might be perfect for a cheesy wedding video…but I try to avoid the cheese.

Just for the record guys, the music video you’re all panning was made as a parody. It became an instant hit on Youtube and was viewed several million times in just the first few days after it hit the air because it made it’s point so well to the very audience about which it was poking fun.

I first heard a blurb about it on NPR, where they quoted several lines from the song, which are intentionally trite, in order to make fun of the plethora of increasingly stupid teen songs all cut to the same monotonous tune.

It’s not very hard to create a reasonable facsimile of the effects in the video.

Below is one of the many parodies of this infamous video
with some knock-off effects that work pretty well-
