I am still having the same problems I’ve had for the last 2 months (ever since upgrading to FCP 5.1.1) I’ve installed BMD software drivers and for some reason the system doesn’t see them. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled many different driver packages and occassionally they have worked but for only a day or two and then after starting up the system the next day Blackmagic is gone. The control panel is greyed out and it’s not recognizing the card. I’m really in a bind now cause I have to get footage captured today.

    I’m running
    G5 duel 1.8
    OSX 10.4.7
    FCP 5.1.1
    I have tried installing BMD 5.7, 5.6.3, 5.6.2

Try reseating your card. or moving it to another PCI slot. Sounds like you’re losing the card after power down and power up…. could be a little unsettled in the slot and the heat-up cool-off is shifting a contact.

Your setup should work. 5.1.1 and the 5.6.2 drivers are working perfectly fine here.

you should also check your about mac -> more info and see if the computer sees a card in the slot.

    Hi,

As Charlie has suggested, reseating your DeckLink card might be the solution. Please shut down your Mac and take measures to ensure you have discharged yourself of static electricity. Now remove the DeckLink card from its slot and then reinsert it firmly. Make sure you apply pressure to the card so that it “thunks” in to its slot. If this does not help, please try another slot in case there is a bent pin in the current slot which might cause such a problem.
