So I am confused about the RT button on thetimeline works…
Sometimes when I click the RT drop down menu there are settings that allow me to set low, medium or hight quality and playback frame rate…
But half the time, the drop down options are not there and I just get like three options that dont allow me to downrez my preview so I end up having to render everything…
Any advice?

It’s codec dependent. In Uncompressed which is not really rt optimized, you will not get the options. With codecs like ProRes or DVCPro HD that are rt optimized, you will get the option.
