real time video with aja kona LH
What I am trying to do is capture from an analog input. I am using the kona 8bit to dv easy set up before creating a new sequence so the settings are applied. However when I bring my captures onto the timeline, it forces me to render everything, even when there are no filters or transitions. How can I get this to play back in real time using the kona?

Make sure that the Sequence settings and the Capture settings match.

I have tried that already but that didn’t make any difference.

Make a new sequence before placing the clips in your timeline.

Was going to say the same. Changing the settings to your sequence after you have clips on it won’t work. You must make the settings change and then create the sequence.

If you changed the Sequence Settings in the A/V Settings, that applies only to any new sequences created since you changed the settings. To change the settings for a sequence already created, select the sequence in the Browser, and hit CMD+0 (zero). The changes you make there apply only to the sequence you selected.

Check to see if your sequence is DV. I bet its set to 8-bit, of which, would be a problem for you and you would have to render everything.
