Real Time Scopes??
Posted by Bob Delano on June 7, 2007 at 7:33 pmInstalling FCP 6 soon, and this question came up today. Are the video scopes in v6 real-time or the same as v5? Final Touch featured real-time video scopes, did they port over with “color”? If so did they replace the not-so-great scopes in FCP?

The scopes in FCP 5.1.4 ARE realtime. You may have not noticed. The scopes in FCP 6 are the same.
Color has its own scopes, which are better and are the same as in FT.

June 7, 2007 at 7:54 pmIf you need truly responsive and accurate scopes, get an external unit.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

June 8, 2007 at 1:03 amScopes in 5.1.4 were only real time for SD. In HD they weren’t. I haven’t tried to open any HD projects in FCP6 yet to test that.
What is better in FCP6 is there is an adjustment for the brightness of the scopes and a scale brightness. Eventually I am sure the later versions of FCP6 will be able to remember the settings which at the moment are lost each time you restart.
