Real Time clip stretching

Short answer – use the “Pitch” setting in the Properties panel that pops up when you right-click the clip and select “Stretch->Stretch Properties…” This will get your music back up to the same pitch it was. But really, you stretched the length of time that it is playing – of course it’s slowed down. What you want to do is loop it by repeating the part of the music that you want to hear again in the same rhythm as before – that’s tougher than it sounds.

Of course, I’m probably being trolled here….

Thanks John. I have found a way to please the client without needing to stretch the music. For the sake of my own investigation, I am continuing my pursuit of how to do this. Yes, as you indicate, stretching the clip would of course slow it down, but in the tutorials below, they seem to say that when “Global Clip Stretching” is “On” it would automatically compensate for the stretching (or shortening). Never as easy as it seems. Thanks again for your response John.
