    Hello all….

is there a way to re-wrap a xdcam 50mbps .mxf file to .mov for Final Cut Pro 7?

I am doing a shoot tomorrow using a PMW-200 set at 50mbps….and want to edit the file on FCP7…but I know that FCP needs to be a .mov file.

so I need some feed back on what to do or not to do…..

    many thanks

    Hi Bill,

Did you call into support with Qs about an .smi issue this morning? Feel free to contact me directly.

Content Browser or XDCAM Transfer will rewrap .mxf to .mov from any XDCAM format so you are good there. For FCP X no external rewrap is required.

    All the best,

    Ian

OK thanks…as I have updated to Content Browser 2.3.1 on my MAC and I will test out the card….as I hope Content Browser will read the sxs card with the .mxf files on it. all I am doing is a “copy” from sxs card to hard drive via the mac book pro….

    many thanks
