    Hi guys

I have just made a short commercial/video with 3 youths beat boxing and rapping. I am looking to edit it using some kind of video filter that reflects this genre of music. I was thinking along the lines of grungy graffiti style. or maybe hip hop bling. Do u know how to create or get a ready made effect of this? I dont mind if the effect changes the boys cartoony or whatever but as long as u can still them.

    regards
    Alison

I’ve created a graffiti / grunge look by just overlaying a bunch of textures like steel, dirt, bark and some rough textures I made in Photoshop. Then just move them around to the beat along with some major shifts in the video behind it.

You can find a lot of textures on iStockphoto.com

Live Type has some Grunge background and even some effect that you can add to imported video.

The backgrounds are under Texture>Urban and the effects are under Effects>Grunge.

I found using Stibs Colouriser 2.4 (a free plugin) and pushing the rgb film curves around can produce a pleasing grungy green tone while still retaining some natural colour. Combined with some film grain from Paul Crisp (another freebe) this gives you a great urban look.
