RE: Exporting clips out of Premiere reading for import to Final Cut Pro
I have a partner who does some limited editing & work on Premiere, who wants to deliver (export) some clips to me to use in a DEMO DVD I’m making for him (he’s an excellent Camera Operator but not a very experienced editor). I edit in Final Cut Pro 5. The problem we’re having is the clips he’s brought me so far import OK but I only get the video – and the video is just fine. However, there’s no audio, can’t find it. Even after rendering and various attempts at converting. The files he brings me are mpegs but don’t identify as MPEG2 or 4. The do open up and play very well in QT player with full audio. I’ve even tried to export them out of QuickTime but with no luck. I suspect the problem is on his end and how he exports them but I don’t know what to tell him since I don’t know Premiere. He claims he has both the audio and video on the timeline before he exports and that these play well on his machine – he is PC based.
Any ideas? Can anyone give us the process for exporting audio and video for other formats (like OSX and FCP5)? Thanks.
