    Hey fellow cows,

I am hired to put together a bunch of old commercials for a client that is only going to run in their restaurants.

However, they want to use the opening sequence to a national tv show that aired in the late 60’s.

Does anyone know if I could just take it from Youtube and throw it in the edit (since it’s only airing in their facilities) or do I need to go through the channels of buying the rights to the show and intro music?

I know there is or was a public domain law but for this time period it would be 95 yrs. after first published. But is there some kind of law that allows for free use for a couple seconds?

As I write this I am feeling that I’m am probably going to have to go through the channels of buying it.

    TIA

    Sam
