    Hi all,

Trying to edit some uncompressed HD in CS4 on a Mac with Snow Leopard, Blackmagic Decklink HD Extreme 3D I/O and a fast local RAID-0 running at 350 read / 317 write MB/s.

All media is uncompressed 10bit BMD Quicktimes and on my RAID, project is on a networked RAID-5 server over 1GigE.

I am having a nightmare working quickly in PPro – when I flip between working/scrubbing in the Source window and then jumping onto the timeline I get the infamous beachball and it hangs for 5-10 seconds before letting me carry on. Also, I can be playing back the footage fine one minute at max quality, then play again and it’s choppy/hangs. It even does this on draft quality and basically just behaving quite randomly.

Any ideas? I hear Blackmagic never wrote any mac drivers for CS4 (which still astounds me!) but I’ve had little or no problem capturing. I’ve just tried switching off usage of BMD card for previews/exports in both windows but still playing up.

Thanks in advance for any ideas/suggestions.

    Jim.
