i rendered it out as mov files so that everyone can watch it
plz do see it and help me

HOW WOULD YOU APPROACH ??? PLZ TELL ME ..

    hi all

i am trying to achieve an effect …
the concept is that i hav a statue rendered in 3d max..

this is the link to the video file…

    ” target=”_blank”>https://rapidshare.de/files/3155910/statue_rotate.mov.html

(for video scroll down , click free and wait for 15 seconds or so)

as u can see, it has a camera movement rotating around the statue almost 360 degrees

what i am planning to do is
i want it to appear in 3d space ..ie, i dont want a flat background for this …
    1. can u tell me what can be done to achieve a 3d space effect

what i am thinking is …
make some text layers named statue in 3d space and rotate it according to the camera motion around the statue

    something like this ..
    check this link

    ” target=”_blank”>https://rapidshare.de/files/3156149/sample_3d_space.mov.html

    is it achievable using ae

    2. if i use the text layers how can i achieve this effect ??? ie how to set the text layers in 3d space ???

    3. i tried applying fe cylinder and cc cylinder to the text layer so that i can rotate it in ae…. but the problem is when i keep the statue (tga sequence) in the comp below the text, some part of the text which is supposed to be on the backside of the statue also comes in the front.. if i decide to mask it .. it will be very difficult as the statue’s camera motion is about 360 degree.. so how can i tweak this ???

    can anyone help me
    please

    thanx in advance

if this wont work.. can u plz tell me how to achieve a nice backdrop to this statue ,,, how would u proceed with this ? plz explain

WHY do you not want to do this in MAX?

Doing this in MAX is the most efficient, best way to do it. Why MUST you do it in AE?

You could also easily setup your BG in MAX,….turn it off,…render the statue move. Then turn off your statue and render your BG move. Then comp them together in AE so you could apply effects and such to just the statue or jsut the bg.

As for doing the whole BG in AE and camera matching the 3D????? It would be very, very, very difficult and time consuming. Especially due to the fact your camera makes a full 360 around the statue..etc..etc…

    Answer: Do it in MAX.
