  Re-capture audio only 1394

  Is it possible to recapture a clip’s audio only, via firewire? I have DVCam footage captured via component with the video levels all set and I want to use it as such, but want to recapture just the audio for each clip (I now have a chance to do some mixing on input and need to fix some gain levels) and it would be easiest for me to do that via firewire (don’t have a component out deck handy right this second)… didn’t know if I could use the firewire for audio and control only. If it is possible, will doing this have any negative consequences for keeping things synched?
